PE Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

The Aspire PE teaching assistant framework aims to provide the school and the apprentice with the ability to have a dual function in school. Firstly as sports coach or activity leader a PE Teaching Assistant apprentice can deliver sports clubs, take sports teams and support the delivery of high quality PE. Secondly as a teaching assistant the apprentice can provide all the general and classroom support of a traditional teaching assistant apprentice. Aspire provide PE teaching assistant apprentices with two qualifications to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to add value in the classroom and in physical education.

PE Teaching Assistant Qualifications

  • Level 2 PE Teaching Assistant Qualifications (12 months) – Level 2 NVQ in Activity Leadership, Level 2 Certificate in Supporting and Learning in Schools, Level 1 in Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT
  • Level 3 PE Teaching Assistant Qualifications (18 months) – Level 2 NVQ in Activity Leadership, Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools, Level 2 Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT
