About Aspire Education Academy

Aspire. It’s what we do.

Aspire was formed in 2010 by ex-professional footballer John Lewis and professional football fitness coach, Jason Murphy. Their aim was to provide engaging, fun and rewarding courses for people who were unfortunate enough to have found themselves out of work and not in education or training.

Their goal has enabled thousands of learners to achieve qualifications, ranging from Activity Leadership to Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools. Over 250 learners have achieved Teaching Assistant Qualifications and thousands of job seekers have completed our Aspire Employment Training programme. Over 15 of these have gone on to gain employment within Aspire and pass on their new skills to other job seekers!

We have formed excellent relations with many key partners within the education system to enhance the opportunities for our learners, such as Cognassist, BKSB, and OneFile.

We continue to grow and adapt to the needs of employers, learners, and job seekers to provide a tailored service to fit in with your needs. Whether you are a company looking for training providers for your levy account, a company looking to upskill your existing workforce or employ a new apprentice, or whether you are interested in how Aspire can provide training for job seekers, then Aspire will provide you with high quality, learner-focused education across the UK.

We wish to continue our success, aspiring to be one of the country’s leading providers of adult education and an institution that both learners and employers can trust.

Our Short History

(2010) Born as Aspire Sporting Academy, Aspire was formed by ex-professional football player John Lewis and professional football fitness coach Jason Murphy. Their aim was to provide engaging, fun and rewarding courses for people who were unfortunate enough to have found themselves out of work, not in education or training.

(2010) Aspire Employment Training Programme

The model was simple. Using sport as a vehicle to build confidence, self-esteem, and belief in each learner whilst also giving them qualifications that would provide a platform to pursue further education or employment.

(2013) Apprenticeships

Having an adaptable approach meant Apprenticeships were the natural progression. Aspire has become one of the leading deliverers of apprenticeship training in the North-West and this continues to grow.

(2014 to current period)

Aspire has a passion for recruiting from within our courses, so successful is this blueprint that Aspire has grown from a team of 2 to 40 people in just over 4 years.
